Accountant | 50k-55k per annum

We are currently working with a dynamic and growing company based in Alton, Hampshire, dedicated to delivering excellence in their field. They currently seek a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join the team. The role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with competitive compensation and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferred.
• Proven working experience as an Accountant or in a relevant field.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and various departments.
